Pronunciation.
[edit]Most locals in Nevada, or at least in the Reno Carson area, pronounce it Nəvædɑː Nuh,veah, duh. People who have never been to Nevada before usually pronounce it Nɑːvɑːdɑː Likalaruku (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:25, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- Or those of us who can pronounce Castilian correctly say it as it was always intended. 😂
- Just saw a segment on TV where the news guy has had his pronunciation corrected (incorrected in my view) so apparently it is a big deal.

- It's a huge deal. Nevadans will get angry if you pronounce it the wrong way. I actually think the "aw" pronunciation should be removed from the article for that reason. 71.94.198.45 (talk) 10:23, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

Pony Express?
[edit]Under Statehood (1864), we see the following:
Rather than sending the Nevada constitution to Washington by Pony Express, the full text was sent by telegraph at a cost of $4,303.27
The immediate problem I see is that the Pony Express was no longer in place in 1864. Looking at the one cited source, I don't even see any mention of the Pony Express. Does anybody who knows more about Nevada history care to weigh in? Against the current (talk) 05:27, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
- Excellent catch! I updated the article, feel free to edit as you see fit. I based my change on what archives.gov reference says. Cxbrx (talk) 20:43, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Suggesting a source for an sentence that needs citation
[edit]An impartial editor has reviewed the proposed edit(s) and asked the editor with a conflict of interest to go ahead and make the suggested changes. |
I'd like so suggest a source and potential edit for a sentence that lacks citation in the Taxes section. The section's opening sentence is:
- Nevada's tax laws are intended to draw new residents and businesses to the state.
I would like to suggest:
- Nevada's tax laws are intended to draw new residents and businesses to the state, and a 2022 study found that Nevada had the second lightest tax burden of any state and the second highest rate of population growth.[1]
Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions. SBCornelius (talk) 19:14, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- Go ahead: I have reviewed these proposed changes and suggest that you go ahead and make the proposed changes to the page. Actualcpscm (talk) 13:46, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
